Job Description

Baker Hughes is looking for a Software Engineering Specialist to join its growing Digital Technology team. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy backend development and want to work on meaningful enterprise-level applications. You will collaborate with developers, architects, and product teams to create high-quality digital solutions that support internal business operations.

In this position, you will not only develop backend features but also contribute to integrations, cloud adoption, and low-code platforms. Moreover, you will gain exposure to modern engineering standards and best practices, helping you grow steadily in your career.

Responsibilities

As part of the engineering team, you will:

Develop backend services, APIs, and features using Java, Spring Boot, and modern frameworks.
Work closely with system engineers and frontend developers to build integrated digital solutions.
Follow SDLC, Agile/Lean methodologies, and DevOps practices throughout development cycles.
Write secure, clean, and testable code that aligns with performance and quality standards.
Build and optimize web services, troubleshoot performance issues, and enhance scalability.
Support enterprise integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
Contribute to low-code solutions using MS PowerApps.
Participate in automation, security improvements, and process excellence initiatives.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
1+ year of experience as a Software Engineer (strong freshers may be considered).
Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, GraphQL, JMS, JUnit.
Solid understanding of OOP concepts and design patterns.
Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven, and cloud environments.
Experience with SQL, JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, and relational databases.
Strong problem-solving ability, communication skills, and teamwork mindset.
