Deloitte Consulting is hiring a Senior Consultant – Java Backend (ODC) in Chennai. This role is ideal for experienced backend professionals with 5–10 years of experience in Core Java, AWS serverless services, RESTful APIs, and cloud-based application development.

Role: Senior Consultant – Java Backend
Department: Engineering – Software & QA
Role Category: Software Development

Qualification: Any Graduate | Any Postgraduate

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable Java backend applications

  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and SOAP services

  • Work with AWS serverless services including Lambda, SQS, SNS, SES

  • Utilize AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch

  • Implement secure authentication using OAuth frameworks

  • Perform unit testing using JUnit 4/5 and Mockito

  • Ensure code quality using SonarQube and NexusIQ

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams using Azure DevOps, Git, Maven, CI/CD pipelines

  • Troubleshoot complex integration and performance issues

  • Work with relational and non-relational databases

  • Support enterprise-grade backend architecture and deployments

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Java backend development

  • Strong expertise in Core Java, OOPs, REST APIs

  • Experience with AWS serverless and cloud services

  • Knowledge of XML, JSON, OpenAPI / RAML specifications

  • Hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines

  • Strong database knowledge:

    • Relational – MS SQL Server, Aurora

    • Non-Relational – MongoDB

  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex backend and integration issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Java and AWS Certifications

  • Experience working in ODC / enterprise delivery environments
